Nestled in the forest along the Bay of Fundy shore, Avalon Herbals medicinal garden flourishes with the bounty of mother nature. While honouring traditional organic growing, harvesting and processing methods, we create a unique fusion, blending exotic healing oils and resins from small crops around the planet.

Each of our botanical offerings is lovingly handcrafted in small batches, with great energy devoted to the selection of each ingredient. Only the finest raw materials from around the world have been chosen for their benefits to your skin & to your health.

Many of the herbs we use are from our own and neighbouring gardens, while the remainder are wild harvested or purchased from other organic growers. Our carrier oils are cold or expeller pressed and as unrefined as possible in order that essential fats and nutrients are retained. The butters we choose are traditionally harvested, organic when possible, and fairly traded. Our essential oils have been acquired from the finest producer's on earth, including those in India, Africa, Asia & North America.

Our infusions are created via the process of steeping macerated botanicals in select oils for a period of not less than 6 weeks. The plant matter is then pressed to extract the deepest of the medicated oil.

Oils, butters and waxes are then gently warmed and blended in batches less than 2 litres in size, allowing for personal quality control. Our own essential oil blends are then added during the cool down phase, thus preventing evaporation of the aromatic components.

Though many of our formulas do contain organic essential oils, each having their own therapeutic benefits, out of consideration for our scent free customers we offer essential free versions of a number of our products. If there is a particular formula that you wish to obtain without essentials, just ask, and we will custom make it just for you.
